Video Games 4: Ubisoft and factors in the industry
Ubisoft is a multinational conglomerate that develops video games such as Rayman or Just dance.
Just dance is a dance interactive game that was released for PlayStation and Nintendo Wii as well as Xbox devices. The game comes in a series as the game updates music and dance features depending on the years latest releases. The game is aimed at young adults and teenagers as they are the audience that listen to the top tracks of the year most and the market for contemporary dance games is limited to those who are more likely to want to dance such as those at a party. Young adults will want to play the game as it incorporates new technology such as phones an speakers for the players to interact as much as they can. Just dance when it was first released, was very popular as there wasn't many other games that offered dance tutorials where as now anyone can find dance moves on platforms like YouTube and safari.
Assassins Creed: Unity
It is set in a fictional world where there is a war between assassins who fight for free will and the Templars who desire peace through control. It is specifically set in france during the revelution. The game is single player with a set kind of storyline. The game was released in November 2014 on platforms such as Playstation and Xbox. The game has received mixed reviews as the visuals are highly praised but the gameplay options were limited so the users have said they would have wanted more options in terms of interaction and characterisation. There were some graphical issues as with many games but Ubisoft did offer compensation to those who asked. Unity was followed by Assassins Creed Syndicate.
Metacritic gave it a 70/100 score.
The lowest user score was 50 and this is what they said: An amazingly beautiful and dull adventure that takes the series well established elements and let's you repeat then yet again in an uninspired infinity. Not even hardcore fans should make excuses for this barely done game of bugs and routine work. Actually they should be the most upset. With Unity the series has gone from it's best to maybe it's worst.
The highest score was 82 given by a user with them saying: The PC version of Assassin's Creed Unity is visually stunning, but it's also very demanding in terms of hardware requirements. If you've got what it takes to run the game smoothly and you like the series, this is the best one so far.
In the assassins creed series the highest ranked game was assassins creed IV: Black flag which took place in the carribbean with pirates and sea adventure storylines. The game combined land-based missions with sea missions too meaning that users get a varied manner of gameplay missions. Ubisoft came out with black flag in 2013 for playstation, Xbox and Wii. It is single and muliplayer based game with still only a small amount of characterisation settings for the player as with many of the other games in the series.
With a metascore of 83 it is the highest ranking game in the series.
